About

Calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) belongs to the class C G protein-coupled receptor and is activated by an elevation of the extracellular calcium concentration.  We show here that physiological concentrations of glucose allosterically stimulate CaSR and elevate intracellular Ca2+ concentration.  Sucralose and artificial sweeteners also stimulate CaSR but they are less potent than glucose.
